John Patton is a highly successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist with a long and impressive track record. He is best known for co-founding Inhale/Nektar in 1990, with the company achieving a $2.1 billion value on NASDAQ in 2001 and achieving global approval of inhaled insulin with Pfizer. Patton has also been involved in numerous high-value business development deals and mergers, including the acquisition of Shearwater and Aerogen by Nektar, and an insulin deal with Pfizer. Other notable accomplishments include being a founding investor of Halozyme, co-founding and chairing Saegis Pharmaceuticals, and founding and serving as CEO of Dance Biopharm (now Aerami Therapeutics).
