Bruce Montgomery
Bruce Montgomery, a physician-scientist, and entrepreneur, has had a leading role in developing new therapies in pulmonary and critical care medicine to help patients. He has contributed to developing groundbreaking medical techniques, such as Cayston, Pulmozyme, and TOBI, that aid in respiratory symptoms in patients with cystic fibrosis. Dr. Montgomery has been a co-inventor of aerosolized pentamidine, an anti-infective agent used to treat AIDS patients. Dr. Montgomery is the inventor of 18 US patents related to biotech. He is a board-certified internist and pulmonologist, with a BS in Chemistry and MD from the University of Washington. He's held leadership roles, such as CEO or research head, at three Seattle-based biotech firms. He has also received recognition from the University of Washington, where he received the timeless award, an honor given to notable alumni in 2012.
