With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology from Texas State University-San Marcos, as well as studies in Theatre and Literature at Stephen F. Austin State University, Mercedes has a unique blend of artistic talent and technical skill.

Mercedes has held various roles in multiple organizations, including Marketing Director at Sky Candy, Social Media Director at Josiesque Designs, Assistant Fabric Librarian at Stockton Hicks Laffey, Scenic Painter at Zachary Scott Theatre, Costume Designer at Wimberley Playhouse, and Props Artisan at Zilker Theatre Productions. She has also worked as a Costume Assistant at Texas State University and a Social Media Specialist at Whole Foods Market.
