Jackson Xia
Jackson Xia is a driven sustainability advocate and a professional in the film industry. Growing up in a frugal Chinese family, Jackson learned the importance of repurposing and conserving resources from a young age. He went on to study Cinematography and Film/Video Production at the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as earning a Sustainability Certificate at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jackson has a diverse range of experiences, having worked as a Writers' PA at Netflix, Eco Production Coordinator at Earth Angel Sustainable Production Services, LLC, and as a Videographer for several organizations such as Zipskee Video Production and CU Strategic Media Relations. He's also studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he had the opportunity to explore Cinematography and Film/Video Production abroad.
Inspired by the documentary "Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution," Jackson has been committed to researching and implementing sustainable solutions on film sets. He's passionate about introducing his friends to new ways of approaching environmental issues, including the use of dance as a climate anxiety-relief tool. In his free time, you can find Jackson at underground LA hip hop jams, mingling with breakdancers and discussing topics such as carbon sequestration through permaculture and effective altruism.
