Ian Mercer is a multi-faceted professional with extensive experience in data commercialization, data governance, effective data partnership management, and data regulatory compliance. He is a specialist in open and closed data networks, data security considerations, risk and liability management, and data utility best practice. Ian also has a background in partner, retail, logistics, digital, development, and marketing experience, with a highly technical background in full stack development and multi-national team responsibilities.

Before joining Amazon Web Services as a Global Alliance Manager, Ian was the Senior Director of Product Management at ReachLocal and Head of Client Data Strategy & Partner Solutions at Data Republic, where he focused on CCPA compliance and developing efficient data partnerships. Ian also founded EM Designs and Ninesquare Systems Ltd, both focused on software development, and worked at Arkima Ltd as part of the development team.

Ian studied Masters in Business Administration and PGDip at Brunel University and BA, Multimedia Communications, BA Hons at The University of Wolverhampton.
