Mark Spalding is a highly renowned international environmental law and policy expert with a focus on marine conservation and philanthropy. He is currently the President of The Ocean Foundation and a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Blue Economy at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. In addition, Mark serves as the CEO and President of SeaWeb and is an advisor to the Rockefeller Ocean Strategy. With extensive experience serving on the Board of Directors and Advisory Committees for numerous environmental organizations, Mark is a well-respected leader in the nonprofit sector. He studied Law at Loyola Law School and holds a BA in History from Claremont McKenna College, as well as an MPIA in Latin America and International Environmental Policy from UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy. Some of his key areas of interest and research include ocean acidification, blue carbon, aquaculture, climate disruption, and marine conservation policy.
