Julia Cartwright

Julia Cartwright is a seasoned professional with a rich background in communications and public affairs. She currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Senior Associate Dean of Communication, Promotion, and Public Affairs at the School of Global Public Health at NYU. Prior to her current position, Julia spent 12 years leading award-winning communications initiatives at the American Legacy Foundation, now known as the Truth Initiative, focusing on reducing tobacco-related harm. Her notable work includes contributing to the decline of youth smoking rates in the US through the iconic truth campaign. Julia's career began at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where she played a key role in establishing the organization's public image over 18 years. She is a distinguished alumna of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and holds a Master's Degree in Corporate Communications from Georgetown University, along with executive certificates from Harvard Kennedy School and Georgetown University's Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership. Recognized as a finalist in PR News' PR Professional of the Year competition in 2006, Julia has also contributed her expertise to NCMEC's Board of Directors.
