Christi Cooper is a highly accomplished Emmy-award winning cinematographer with a unique background spanning across neuroscience and microbiology. Driven by her passion for creating an impact through visual storytelling, she holds an MFA in Science & Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University-Bozeman. Christi has an impressive track record of directing and producing films centered around pressing global issues. She co-created "Stories of TRUST: Calling for Climate Recovery," a 10-part documentary series that featured young plaintiffs suing their state governments over climate change. Furthermore, she recently directed and produced the award-winning documentary "YOUTH v GOV" which premiered at DocNYC. Her accolades include several notable awards such as Wildscreen's Panda Award for Best Campaign Film, Best Environmental Film from Backcountry Film Festival, Best Youth Film from Colorado Environmental Film Festival, and Best Made in Montana from the International Wildlife Film Festival.
Christi has an outstanding educational background, holding a PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Regensburg, an MS in Microbiology from Colorado State University, and a BS in Microbiology from the same institution. She is also the first Jacob Burns Film Center Focus on Nature Artist-in-Resident and the inaugural SFFilm/Vulcan Productions Environmental Film Fellow. Christi brings a unique perspective and skill set to her work, using her academic background to create compelling visual narratives that impact her audience.
