Luis Fernando Orleans is a seasoned Computer Science professor and researcher at Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who has been teaching and researching Software Development disciplines for over a decade. Luis is deeply passionate about Software Development and has extensive knowledge in languages, frameworks, and technologies that include Linux, Java, JUnit, and Scrum. He is an Agile Development enthusiast and a dynamic educator, making him an ideal candidate for academic and industry roles.
With a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Computer Science, Luis has garnered invaluable knowledge and experience in the field. As a professor, his expertise includes disciplines related to Software Development, including Object-Oriented Modeling and Design, Data Structures, Introduction to Database Systems, and Web Programming, among others. He was also involved in research projects that aimed to teach Computational Thinking to young children using a more inclusive methodology.
Luis has had an illustrious career that spans over 20 years. He has held various positions in several organizations, including Director of AI Education & Tools at UnitedHealthcare, Senior Java Software Engineer at Benefitter and Mobi2buy, Software Developer Project Lead at Stefanini, and Senior Java Developer and Development Environment Consultant at COPPE/UFRJ, among others.
