Paula Kupfer is an accomplished art historian, journalist, and photographer with an impressive educational background. She holds a Master of Arts in Art History from Hunter College, a Ph.D. in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation, and another Ph.D. in History of Art and Architecture, both from the University of Pittsburgh. Kupfer also earned a B.A. in Journalism and Latin American Studies from New York University and studied at the Colegio Episcopal de Panama.

She is a former photo editor for The California Sunday Magazine, a managing editor for Aperture Foundation, and a photographer for the Hemispheric Institute for Performance and Politics. Kupfer also worked as a photo desk intern for New York Magazine and the International Herald Tribune, an editorial intern for ARTnews, and a staff reporter for La Prensa, Panama.
