Veronica Zhou

Veronica Zhou is a well-educated and experienced venture capitalist, specializing in the education technology industry in China. She is a partner at Blue Elephant Capital (BEC), which is the first education industry-specific venture capital firm in the country. BEC manages five angel and seed funds, and has invested in 82 portfolio companies, with some growing to over $1 billion valuations.

Veronica studied at Tsinghua University for her B.B.A. in Accounting/Management, then went on to pursue her Master of Science in Management, Entrepreneurial Studies and Venture Capital at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. From there, she continued her education and earned her Master of Science in Management for Experienced Leaders (MSx/Sloan Fellow) in Entrepreneurship/VC/Blockchain-enabled innovative business models, as well as studying as an MBA Candidate at INSEAD. She also studied Business Valuation at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators and is a Chartered Business Valuator.

Before joining BEC, Veronica worked at Van Pacific Consulting as a Founder/Director, at bcIMC as an Investment Valuation and Financial Reporting consultant, and at the Office of the Auditor General of BC and KPMG China as an Assistant Manager at both.

At BEC, Veronica and her team raised funds from 60+ accomplished education entrepreneurs, investing 300k or 800k RMB at standardized valuations. Her team spearheaded the "Blue Elephant Camp" accelerator program, which hosts the best startups in China's educational technology scene. The three-month program includes intensive interactions among entrepreneurs, partner and limited partners (advisors), ending in a Demo Day for next round VCs.

Veronica played an instrumental role in designing BEC's unique education investment model, where they co-invest with top-tier VCs in the education and edtech investment space in China. Her knowledge and experience in the field make her a notable figure in the industry.
