Pete Rivera is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience in IT healthcare leadership, clinical expertise, and operations. With a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems and certified Project Manager (PMP), he has held senior leadership positions such as CIO, VP IT systems, and Director of Physician Information Systems for several organizations, including Healthpoint Management Group, Baycare and University of Florida. As a former Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Navy, he served as a Chief Hospital Corpsman and coordinated the national medical wide area network for Navy and Marine Corps reserve units. He is also a Fellow of the Health Information Management Systems Society and a former blogger for Healthcare Informatics Magazine.

Rivera's experience ranges from leading senior leadership teams during strategic planning initiatives and system selections, assessing IT and revenue cycle systems, to implementing Electronic Medical Records. He was responsible for hospital enterprise-wide system implementations, and tele-medicine demonstration projects, making him a seasoned consultant in healthcare informatics. He has also served as a medical planner for overseas Military Medical Humanitarian missions.

As an Independent Healthcare Consultant, Rivera provides consultancy services for healthcare providers, technology vendors, and government agencies. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for managing information systems, network operations, budgeting and financial management, and clinical systems implementation.
