Sohrab Modi is an accomplished tech leader with a diverse portfolio that includes big data, edge computing, cloud, and IoT segments. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions at notable companies such as Adesto, Echelon, Sun Microsystems, Novell, and Huawei. Modi played a significant role in modernizing Echelon's legacy Industrial IoT edge products, which led to its acquisition by Adesto Technologies in 2018. He then helped facilitate Adesto's acquisition by Dialog Semiconductor.
Modi has a rich educational background, having studied BS in Physics from the University of Mumbai and earning an MS in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. His career has been marked by influential leadership experiences, such as driving Sun Microsystems' billion-dollar systems management products, leading to pioneering products in cloud computing and big data offerings.
Currently, Modi is a member of the board of advisors at Small Scale Farms. Notably, he was formerly the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Adesto, the Senior Vice President Development at Echelon, and the Technical Vice President at Huawei. He was also a longtime Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of Technology, and Director of Engineering at Sun Microsystems, and an Engineering Manager at Novell Inc.
