Matthew Goldberg, a barrister and international human rights advocate with over 10 years of experience, is devoted to the development of public policy and legal systems, with a focus on a long-term future of the world. Matthew has been an active member of several organizations like Victorian Bar, World Coalition Against the Death Penalty, and Reprieve Australia. He has been President and Vice President of Reprieve Australia, representing CPJP (formerly Reprieve Australia) as a delegate to the Steering Committee of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty. Matthew is also a co-founder of the Mercy Campaign, an online social movement to support clemency applications made by Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, with more than 250,000 signatories to the campaign that reached the highest levels of government in Indonesia and Australia.

Matthew is concerned with the improvement of governance methods in the digital age and strongly advocates for legislative reform within Asia. His expertise lies in anti-death penalty advocacy, research, professional development, strategic litigation, and advocacy. With a deep interest in technology, he believes that technological advancements haven't undone the importance of democratic structures but have instead enhanced the public's capacity to engage with them.
