Alex Ferrara is a New York-based venture capitalist with a focus on investing in software, internet, and financial services technologies. He is a former software developer, entrepreneur, options trader, and i-banker. Alex has invested in well-known companies such as Kenna Security, Cofence, Dashlane, NewVoiceMedia, Wandera, HootSuite, Shopify, and Alibaba Group. Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in market structure-related investments and capital markets technologies.

Alex studied BSE in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and later pursued his MBA in Finance at Columbia Business School. Currently, he serves as a Board Member at BigID and has previously served on the boards of Kenna Security, Pipedrive, Dashlane, Wandera, Cofense, Social Tables, NewVoiceMedia, ThreatTrack Security, and Yodle. He has also served as Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and Director at Shopify, OMGPOP, SelectMinds, and was a former Sr. Director Engineering at Channelspace as well.
