Senior Relationship and Resourcing Consultant - Internal Comms Consultancy and Resourcing Solutions

As a Client Partner, my role was to build client relationships and consult with them on developing leading edge direct sourcing strategies combining employer brand, advertising & attraction, social media, direct candidate sourcing, candidate management, assessment/assessment design and Executive & Interim search & selection. Creating cost savings and improvements in candidate quality and also supporting clients in the improvement and development of application and on-boarding processes.

Huson Media is a privately owned international media company with offices in London, Munich, Amsterdam and US. The core business of Huson is to represent international publishers, and sell media space on their behalf.
From the London office, I managed the ‘industrial’ portfolio of publications and sold digital and print advertising solutions to companies and agencies within the B2B market.

- Working directly with international marketing & communications specialists for direct clients such as Veolia Environment, Linde Electronics and with advertising agencies for brands such as Shell, BP and ExxonMobil, implementing integrated marketing campaigns from brief, including lead generation, EDM, rich media and traditional print.
- Delivering the full ‘Account Management’ service for clients and agencies - from brief taking, devising/delivering strategies to budget and monitoring campaign effectiveness, to providing feedback to my clients and the publishers.
- Working directly on a strategic level directly with key publisher Elsevier’s commercial team to help develop new digital products for increased revenue generation and to increase their brands’ share of market.
- Attending European and US trade shows to expand existing relationships with clients and acting as an Ambassador for the various media brands within my portfolio.

After my redundancy from TMP in February 2009, I worked on a freelance Account Management basis for various organisations including this privately owned Business Marketing company.

- Identifying and qualifying prospective clients, carrying out market research and competitor analysis.
- Generating bespoke mailings and carrying out desktop research in preparation for new business meetings and communications proposals.
- Liaising with external suppliers (print, design and web specialists) to determine how best to take advantage of various advertising avenues for client campaigns and analysing Basham’s website activity to work with SEO specialist to maximize traffic.

Freelance Account Manager (Contract position)

TMP is one of the UK’s leading recruitment communications agencies. My position was within in the advertising & communications division of the company. Working closely with Account Directors and a team of Client Service Coordinators, I managed a portfolio of public and private sector clients.  Amongst others, these were a number of the agency’s ‘top 20’ agency accounts including E.ON, Citizens Advice Bureau and the OU. During my nine months with the company, I added great value by successfully converting a number of ‘lapsed’ and non-revenue generating clients into profitable, valuable business for the organisation.
- Writing inspirational creative briefs and liaising with agency specialist staff (creative, digital, response, media and others) to devise communications strategies which met client objectives whilst maintaining their brand integrity.
- Translating and confidently presenting these solutions-driven concepts to HR Managers/Directors, Marketing Managers and Recruitment Specialists.
- Planning and executing campaign led innovative recruitment strategies to brief, which included traditional and digital methods.
- Working with the Account Directors to identifying how the full range of TMP services and products could be applied to client development plans and converting and maximising ‘transactional’ client relationships into profitable accounts.
- Introduction and allocation of new clients to my portfolio, developing the business relationship and maintaining and expanding these relationships by seeking to increase TMP services to my portfolio, increasing income generated.
- Assisting the new business team with research and presenting on new and existing client pitches.
- Monitoring the effectiveness the campaigns produced and providing feedback to my clients and the business.

Unfortunately due to the global recession, TMP were forced to make redundancies throughout their workforce.

In 2007 the advertising agency of Berkeley Scott was dissolved and I was offered an internal position in the new Sales & Marketing Function as Marketing Executive working for two brands within the group.
Working closely with the Sales Support Manager and under the direction of the Sales & Marketing Director, my main objective in this varied role was to develop and deliver integrated targeted programmes of recruitment communication activity using all appropriate channels including events, exhibitions, promotions, sponsorships, direct mail, advertising, e marketing campaigns, newsletters etc. whilst ensuring that brand integrity is maintained at all times.

BSA&C (Berkeley Scott Advertising & Communications, part of the Berkeley Scott Group) was a small niche recruitment advertising agency which specialised in candidate attraction strategies for clients in the hospitality & catering markets.  Due to the size of the agency my role was extremely varied and encompassed all aspects of account handling. Working predominantly externally with direct clients such as Thresher, Macdonald Hotels and Café Rouge, but also internally for the Berkeley Scott Group.

Towards the end of 2004 I took advantage of an opportunity to set up my own consultancy offering a copywriting and marketing service to individuals and small business alike. 'From inspirational concept to creative copy', The Media Magician consulted to produce copy and advised on strategy for marketing material including corporate collateral, CVs and advertisements.  This was a very brave and exciting 18-month venture but unfortunately did not generate sufficient income to warrant a full time occupation. I do still however carry out various projects for existing clients.

I was initially employed as a New Business Telesales Executive and my role developed quickly from being responsible for the introduction and handling of all new business within the recruitment department, to directing a team of account handlers.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, my role was primarily to oversee the management of the advertising requirements of over 200 National Recruitment Consultancies and the induction and ongoing training of nine account handlers. My responsibilities also included:

- Allocating new and current business to the team
- Implementing commercial controls & systems to the company
- Developing organic growth within existing business
- Account Management of several of the company's key accounts including Spring Personnel and Select Appointments.
- Negotiating preferential media contracts for the organisation
