Steve Flinter is a seasoned IT professional with over 20 years of experience across various industries, academia and government. Flinter currently leads Mastercard Labs' Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning team, spearheading their innovation initiatives. Prior to this, he worked with Mastercard Start Path's startup engagement division as its practice lead for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Before joining Mastercard, Flinter had a successful stint with Science Foundation Ireland, where he was responsible for managing investments worth €120m. He also held several senior software development roles in a wide range of industry verticals before that.

Flinter holds a PhD in Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence from Trinity College Dublin and a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
