Wanming Qi

Wanming Qi is a highly accomplished physicist, currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC). With a Ph.D. in Physics from Brown University, Wanming's research interests mainly revolve around statistical mechanics, specifically non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. She is keenly interested in delving deep into the mechanisms responsible for self-organization phenomena in non-linear chaotic systems such as active matter, biological systems, and fluid turbulence. Her paramount work on the statistical mechanics of two-dimensional fluid turbulence has been groundbreaking, and Wanming remains at the forefront of this specialty.

Wanming's academic journey began at Peking University, where she studied Physics for her Bachelor's degree. She later joined Brown University, where she graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics in 2014. Since then, Wanming has held various positions in renowned institutions such as Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS), Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, and Kyoto University. Wanming has also worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant and Graduate Student Teaching Assistant at Brown University.
