Kate Aishton is an accomplished attorney and communication professional with a diverse range of experiences in politics, law, and digital media. She holds a J.D from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A in Communication Management from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communication, and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from Reed College. Before joining Instagram as an Associate General Counsel, Product, she was Ads Counsel, Advertising Technology at Facebook, and an associate at BuckleySandler LLP.

Kate has also worked on policy initiatives in the international digital economy accords at The Aspen Institute, and has served as the Chief Operating Officer/Director of Operations at Style for Hire. She has also held various legal and research positions at Free Press, US Small Business Administration, and the Federal Communications Commission. As a passionate advocate of good communication and society, she has been a Teaching/Research Assistant at the Annenberg School for Communication and a Project Manager for the Communications and Society Division of The Aspen Institute.
