Pieter Colpaert
Pieter Colpaert is a highly accomplished researcher at IDLab – Ghent University – imec, specializing in cost-efficient and maintainable Linked Data Web APIs. With a passion for promoting a world where knowledge empowers the many, and not just the few, Colpaert was a voluntary board member of Open Knowledge Belgium, an organization that champions open data and promotes transparency.
Colpaert has extensive experience in different domains, including transport and mobility, cultural heritage, government data, environmental sensor data, and scholarly communication. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Information Technology at Ghent University, and his Master of Science in Computer Science at Hogeschool Gent.
Before joining IDLab, Colpaert was a project coordinator at iRail and CTO at FlatTurtle. He has also worked as a researcher and project manager at the Open Summer of Code and served as chairman and board member at Open Knowledge Belgium.
Overall, Pieter Colpaert is an innovative researcher with a deep understanding of Linked Data Web APIs, open data, and knowledge sharing.
