Marc Mommaas
Marc Mommaas is a world-renowned band-leader, recording artist, and educator with a wealth of experience in the music industry. He is highly skilled at team-building clinics and has worked with top multinational corporations like General Electric, Swiss Re, and Thomson Reuters. Marc has played at several festivals and venues globally, including New Orleans Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall NYC, and Copenhagen Jazz House, among others.
Marc is an accomplished saxophonist and a prolific composer. He has released several well-received albums over the years, including "Ballads and Standards" and "Landmarc" and has been involved in two recording projects that are in the top 20 jazz chart in the US. Marc has studied Masters in Jazz Improvisation at the Manhattan School of Music and earned another Masters in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.
As an educator, Marc has held teaching positions at several institutions like the New York Jazz Workshop, the New School, and Hudson Jazz Works, among others. He has also conducted clinics, masterclasses, and workshops globally, including at the Rhythmic Conservatory of Copenhagen, Conservatory of Madrid, and William Paterson University.
In addition to his music career, Marc has published "a linear approach to rhythmic improvisation and composition," a book that offers insights into his unique approach to the creative process.
