Shawn Carnell, a seasoned software development manager with experience in various distinguished organizations, from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to AOL and Surety. He holds a Masters's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelors's degree in Anthropology and English, both from the University of Virginia. Shawn cherishes delivering software that improves the lives of his customers and enjoys mentoring his team members to tackle challenging projects.

Shawn started his career as a software developer at Visix Software, where he oversaw several software projects. He then worked at Surety, where he was an Engineering Team Leader and was later promoted to a Senior Software Engineer. Following that, he was the owner and Chief Software Developer at Mithril, Inc. and later held the position of Lead Software Engineer at Visix Software Inc. Shawn then joined AOL where he held various roles, namely System Architect and Principal Software Engineer. After eleven years with AOL, he transitioned to Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he is now a Software Development Manager.

In his current role at AWS, Shawn ensures that his team delivers software that meets customer needs while mentoring team members on how to exceed their goals and achieve their career aspirations. After the AOL and Yahoo! merger, Shawn worked as Senior Technical Manager, Software Development, at Oath. His broad experience and in-depth technical knowledge position him to lead complex projects and provide invaluable mentorship to his colleagues.
