Oakley-Carpenter is a multifaceted individual with vast experience in medicine, program management, and account directing. An alumni of the prestigious Maharishi University and the California College of Ayurveda, Oakley-Carpenter has honed her skills in different fields, including account management, marketing, and the wellness industry. Before co-founding Parallel Practice Partners, she worked with reputable brands like MRM//McCann, Interbrand, and RTC Relationship Marketing, where she held top-ranking positions. She also taught as an adjunct professor at the Maharishi University of Management.

Oakley-Carpenter's background in medicine and wellness is evident from her extensive experience as a clinical Ayurvedic specialist and RYT200. She has owned multiple wellness start-ups, including Daily Veda and YogaOne, where she served as the Director and Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. Also, she has previously worked as the Executive Director of YogaOne at Well Sonoma.

Her expertise extends beyond medicine and wellness as she has held top-ranking positions in account directing and program management. At Wunderman DC, Oakley-Carpenter worked as the Vice President Account Director and later as the Project Management Supervisor. She also served as the Global Program Manager at MRM//McCann, where she managed several projects across the global arena.
