Giulia Vilone
Giulia Vilone, a highly motivated professional with over five years of experience as a data scientist and mathematical modeller, has been making significant contributions to the scientific and industrial fields. After graduating from the University Polytechnic of Milan with a degree in mathematical engineering and pursuing a diploma in actuarial sciences at the British Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Vilone worked in several life insurance companies, where she honed her actuarial skills. She later joined Creme Global, where she spent several years developing predictive models to estimate the long-term exposure to pesticides and other chemicals by analyzing big databases of food, cosmetics, and household product consumption. She used Python, SQL, and R to build models that were used to assess the adverse risks on people's health, which were viewed as incredibly valuable by scientists in the cosmetic and food industries, as well as regulatory bodies.
With exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, Vilone excels in both independent and team settings in a fast-paced environment. Her love for research and scientific writing led to several peer-reviewed scientific papers, which have been published in collaboration with industry partners where relevant and meaningful to the research or industrial project.
Vilone continues to be a leader in the industry, having founded and now serving as CEO of Piccabi Ltd. She also previously dabbled in artificial intelligence as a doctoral student at the Technological University Dublin.
