Nick Odell is a recent statistics graduate from Western Washington University, specializing in computational statistics and time series analysis. He is proficient in R and Minitab statistical packages, worked on a research project entitled “Short-Term Volatility Curve Predictions Using Singular Spectrum Analysis," which involved studying various time series and autoregressive models to attempt to better predict financial volatility. Nick presented the results of his research at several events, including the Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium in 2017 and Western's Scholars Week in 2018. Along with his academic achievements, Nick has worked in several positions such as Auditor/CSR at Best Western® Hotels & Resorts and Store Manager at Subway.
