James Puellmann
James Puellmann, a New York-based senior infrastructure engineer, has an extensive background in tech leadership, system architecture, project and program management. His experience spans across industries such as Web Media, Finance, IT Managed Services, E-commerce, IT consulting, and Agile software development. He is skilled in operating system build and deployment, configuration management, and workflow integration for CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-code deployment pipelines.
James has in-depth knowledge and expertise in platforms such as Amazon AWS, Azure, Google Compute Engine, and Kubernetes, to mention a few. While his Config experience includes Ansible, Chef, and Puppet, his experience in CI/CD encompasses Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Travis, and operating systems such as Debian, Fedora, RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu. He is also proficient in Docker, Git, Helm, Packer, Python, Terraform, Vagrant, and Vault.
James holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His career has seen him serve in multiple roles such as DevOps Engineering Consultant at World Wide Technology, Lead Engineer, Infrastructure at The New York Times, and Technical Operations Manager, American Stock Exchange at CenturyLink (Formerly Savvis Inc.), among others.
Outside work, James enjoys captaining his eight-time East Village Bar Trivia champs team.
