Software Engineer

- Co-founded Patter, an employee engagement tool where employees can give input on various issues and see the most pressing company-wide issues
- Architected the data models and necessary APIs, and designed the user flows
- Built the authentication API for the app to allow users to register, login, access data if logged in, and logout (using JSON Web Tokens)
- Implemented the models and controllers related to authentication for the app (Java Spring Framework)

Patter, Inc.

Co-Founder

- Architected and built a patented system for actively gathering information from devices in wireless networks and doing analytics on this data as a core feature of the AirShield sensor (C, Python, Go, wpa_supplicant)
-  Built the notification system for the 802 Secure Customer Portal to send notifications on wireless security events of interest, indicated by the customer, via various channels (email, SMS, Slack, our customer portal, Syslog, HTTP Push for third-party HTTP API-based systems)
-  Developed the entire feature of the customer portal that keeps track of all wireless networks detected by our sensors and accurately tracks the access points and client devices that make up each network in real-time (Python, SQLAlchemy, Graphite monitoring backend)
-  Built out the report generation functionality of our customer portal to generate accurate and useful reports on data collected by our sensors
-  Drove spontaneous, on-site fixes to critical issues arising in production during the Black Hat and Defcon security conferences
-  Built a development environment to reliably, repeatedly and quickly test our AirShield sensor’s wireless scanning functionality, something we previously could not do pre-production (Python, Bash, hostapd)
-  Researched and brainstormed machine learning methods/algorithms and how to apply them to our data sets to make the AirShield smarter (clustering, n-gram analysis, etc.)
-  Turned the monolithic AirShield sensor code base into a stripped-down library to be installed as a Python package by Puppet in our deployed sensors
-  Implemented device-tagging analytics in the customer portal for tagging wireless devices with labels (vendor, device type) based on information collected about them
-  Implemented various other features for the customer portal, working full-stack to add whole functionalities from the backend up to the UI (Python, Flask, Javascript, HTML/CSS)

- Spearheaded the transition to a new Python-based framework for testing Cisco’s data center solution, the UCS Central
-  Standardized a template for test development in the UCS Central team
-  Implemented test cases to ensure quality of various functionalities of UCS Central software
-  Drove team toward benchmark of implementing 90% of all test cases by milestone deadline
-  Led team meetings discussing the new framework, advising colleagues on its functionalities

Cisco

Software Engineering Intern

- Developed an IoT project on real-time video inspection in the cloud at UC Berkeley’s AMPLab (where Apache Spark was developed), researching under Professor Randy Katz
- Created multi-threaded programs to take baseline measurements of network latency, involving packet construction, packet parsing, and socket programming
- Implemented a program to calculate the frame-by-frame accuracy of the system, utilizing the Python shapely library

AMPLab at UC Berkeley

Undergraduate Researcher

- Lead Python expert in the Milpitas branch, providing guidance to coworkers on Python-related issues
- Drove development on the PCAP Tool, a software tool with a variety of features to test and debug Projected Capacitive touchscreens
- Liaised with hardware engineers to understand their needs from the tool, and took ownership of PCAP Tool features to make sure they met those needs and worked intuitively
- Developed software and hardware setups of a robot that tests touch locations of PCAP touchscreens
