Susie Tanney
Susie Tanney is a graduate clinician at the Indiana University Robert L. Miliesen Speech & Hearing Clinic. She has a passion for identifying and growing the cognitive and communicative strengths of various groups of people, including children on the autism spectrum, seniors with memory deficits, and adults in post-stroke rehabilitation. She believes that communication is essential to forming connections with others and promoting community, and is determined to make a difference in the world one brain, skill, and step at a time.
Tanney holds a Bachelor of Science in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Indiana University in Bloomington. She has previous experience in a variety of roles, including Special Education Paraprofessional at Monroe County Community School Corporation, Grants Intern at Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington, Behavioral Therapist at Little Star Center, and Chapter Co-Leader and Campus Advocate at Challah for Hunger: Indiana University Chapter.
She has engaged in several extracurricular activities such as being a Camp Counselor at URJ Eisner Camp, Troop Co-Leader at Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, and Program Developer: University Representative at West Indianapolis Peace Park. In addition, she was formerly Secretary of the Board at Bloomingfoods Market and Deli, Research Assistant at Indiana University Bloomington, Employment Consultant at Stone Belt Arc, Inc., Engagement Associate at Indiana University Hillel, and Assistant Unit Head: Lower Camp at URJ Eisner Camp.
