Rob Shilkin is a distinguished professional with an impressive background in law, economics, and global communication. He studied at the University of Western Australia, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws with Honors and Bachelor of Economics degree. He then went on to earn a Law Honors degree and Economics degree. Shilkin worked as a senior associate in Competition Law at Clayton Utz and solicitor at Clayton Utz before moving to Mallesons Stephen Jaques in the same position. He then became an adjunct faculty member at the University of Sydney before a part-time seat at the Classification Review Board at the Office of Film and Literature Classification.

He eventually found his way to Google as the Head of Global Communications and Public Affairs for Australia and New Zealand before becoming the Director of Global Communications and Public Affairs - Ads and Commerce, and now the Vice President, Global Communications & Public Affairs at Google. In these roles, he played an instrumental role in managing external communications and public affairs for the technology giant.
