Alpaca United is a textile fiber company created and funded by the North American Alpaca farmers and processors to make their fiber more competitive in world markets.

The company will manage market building activities designed to increase share of market, product demand and pricing.

It is structured as a for-profit entity with a flexible framework allowing for new business plans with low barriers of entry and positive cash-flow. These plans are expected to generate sufficient revenue to bolster investor capital and sustain on-going operations.

Investors in AU should expect:
1. First, a return on investment in the form of a more profitable North American Alpaca fiber industry.
2. Second, a modest cash return in year 5 and forward.

The company will increase consumer awareness and appreciation of Alpaca fiber through ingredient product marketing and promotion including both fashion and function.

It is expected that Alpaca fiber will gain consumer and commercial recognition and acceptance competing effectively at the upper end of the luxury apparel and home textile market as well as an industrial by product.

International Textile Manufacturers Federation

a leading non-profit organization created to enhance the competitiveness of the US cotton farmers and the upstream segments of the sector's value chain through textiles and consumer apparel and home products. The 33,000 farmers growing cotton in the US and their processors were independent businesspeople and not organized on a national level. The challenge was to organize the farmers, ginners, spinners and end product manufacturers, create the structure for an operational and functional trade entity, devise a fair and equitable funding mechanism, create a balanced board of directors that represented all segments of the industry and recruit professional staff to execute board policy. I was named Sr. Vice President of the organization, Executive Vice President & COO and President & CEO until stepping down in 1997 to found Hahn International, Ltd., a global consulting and advisory firm concentrating on supply chain management, marketing, cross industry and/or nation branding and industry competitiveness solutions through cluster creation and association building in developing economies. CI increased their annual budget from $36mm to $73mm during my 19 years as CEO based upon aggressive fund raising including capital campaigns, events, grant applications etc.  This budget was developed by the board of trustees and managed through a professional staff of 200 with 10 offices worldwide including: Basel
