Christopher Nikoloff, the headmaster of The American School in Switzerland, has an impressive background in education and administration. Born and raised in upstate New York, Chris graduated magna cum laude in English literature and philosophy from Boston University. Later, from the same institution, he earned a Master's of Arts and Teaching, graduating summa cum laude in education with a component in English literature. Chris also possesses a MBA from Santa Clara University, which he received in 2008.

In the beginning, he worked as a security guard for jockeys in Saratoga before deciding to pursue a career in education. Chris began teaching English in Berkeley at the newly formed East Bay French-American Middle School. He then assumed the title Dean of Students before later moving on to work at The Harker School in San Jose, where he held positions such as the assistant head for academic affairs, the head of the middle school, and ultimately, the head of school until 2017.

Currently, as headmaster of The American School in Switzerland, Chris has been entrusted with overseeing the oldest American school in Europe. He and his wife Corina have three sons, Alexander, Anthony, and Andreas, who have no problem reminding their parents that they don't know everything.
