John Shirley

John Shirley is a professional director with a wealth of management experience stemming from an engineering background. He holds a strong interest in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with a keen focus on mobile telecommunications and sustainability initiatives.

His skill set includes expertise in governance and strategy, budgeting, fundraising, business development in Asia with a specific emphasis on Vietnam, interim management, negotiation, program and project management, wireless telecommunications, network procurement, contracts management, mobile value-added services, digital media, mobile marketing, digital content licensing, mobile payment solutions, and product development along with quality assurance.

John Shirley pursued Leadership studies at Ashridge Executive Education, Hult International Business School. Additionally, he obtained a bachelors's degree with Honors in Aeronautical Engineering & Design from Loughborough University.

Throughout his career, John held various significant roles, such as Partnerships Development in Business Communications and Global Network Acquisitions for Mobile at Google. He also served as a Management Consultant and was a Member of the Board at the United Nations International School of Hanoi. Further, he has held Director positions at Gapit Communications, Comvik International Vietnam, Millicom International Cellular, and O2. Additionally, he has worked as Chief Information Officer at breathe.com Limited and Chartwell UK Plc (now Canopius), as well as Director and board member at Chartwell Underwriting Limited. Prior to these roles, he contributed as an Analyst & Project Manager at Teleglobe Insurance Systems Limited and as an Operational Research Analyst at CORDA.
