Daniel Klein is a renowned author, chef, and TV host with a passion for gastronomy. Born and raised in New York City, Klein studied philosophy at Bard College. During his year abroad in Western Europe, he became immersed in the culinary culture, which led him to enroll in cooking school in Thailand. After completing his studies, Klein worked in a variety of kitchens in Thailand, New York, and Vietnam.

In 2009, Klein launched a food blog called Perennial Plate, where he and his partner Mirra Fine showcased their culinary adventures in the form of stories, photos, and videos. The blog became a huge success, and the couple was soon approached by PBS to produce a TV series based on their travels. The Perennial Plate aired on PBS from 2012 to 2015, and was nominated for several James Beard Awards.

Apart from his work in the culinary world, Klein is also a published author. His books include The History of Eating and Travels with Epicurus, both of which explore the intersection of philosophy and food. Klein is a sought-after speaker and has given talks at various conferences and universities, including TEDx and Yale.
