Sukeert Shanker is a successful Indian entrepreneur and businessman based in Silicon Valley. With over 20 years of experience, he has held various positions including investment banker, management consultant, and founder of two de-novo digital banks. Shanker has worked across three continents – U.S., China, and India – giving him a deep understanding of consumers and financial regulations in these markets.
As the Founder & CEO of Aeldra Financial, Inc., Shanker is passionate about providing overseas citizens, immigrants, and students access to seamless banking and investment opportunities in the U.S. The platform aims to address the limitations of traditional banks, which cannot break free from country-specific identity and credit systems. Shanker has leveraged new technologies and API-accessible data sources to do KYC and Identity Verification, mitigate fraud and manage credit risk in a compliant and scalable way.
Prior to starting Aeldra, Shanker served as COO of Digital Banking at East West Bank, where he launched a mobile app, Velo, targeting the Chinese diaspora. Additionally, as VP and Head of Launch Management at Marcus by Goldman Sachs – a de-novo digital bank – he played a significant role in its founding team. Shanker's prior experiences include advising global financial institutions at McKinsey & Co. and Booz & Co. and working as an Investment Banker at ANZ and Ernst & Young in India.
Shanker studied MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where he also earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) at Delhi University.
