Head of Talent

Combined role as Head of Talent and HR Business Partner. Joined business to drive talent acquisition and developed into a broader talent and HR role as the company went through its various stages: start-up, rapid expansion, transformation and cultural change in the midst of tighter regulatory supervision.


- Partnered with Founder, CEO, COO and CFO to build and implement the strategic global hiring plan, adapting it to a constantly changing environment
- Worked closely with leadership team to hire senior level executives into the business right through the company’s various periods of development .
- Championed and implemented a direct hiring model, going from 80% agency usage to 80% direct over 12 month period (2013).
- Recruited, coached and developed a high performing Talent Acquisition team, expanding it from 2 to 7 people, with a strong focus on business partnering and quality of hires.

- Member of HR leadership team reporting to Global HR Director, directly influencing, shaping and agreeing key HR programmes and deliverables on the HR people plan.
- Senior HR Business Partner to executive and leadership teams for Commercial Operations (Marketing, Product, Analytics, Credit Risk, Customer Service., Programme Management and Remediation), totalling approx 60% of UK employees.
- Adopted key role in people restructure as part of Wonga’s high profile transformation programme, including consultation with 40% of UK based employees. Critical point of contact for senior managers and employees throughout whole restructure process from planning and design, through to announcement and then execution of redundancy programme.
- Introduced a talent management mindset to leadership discussions, coaching leaders on how they should manage people, plan succession, create career development opportunities and reward employees, using accurate and cleansed employee data. Used market mapping and benchmarking data to make informed talent decisions.

Wonga

Head of Talent / HR Business Partner

Criteo are a VC backed (Index Ventures, Bessemer venture Partners) start-up with over 140 people globally. Criteo's technology enables the retargeting of users who have left an e-Commerce site. They use dynamic banners to display product specific information generated automatically in real time for each individual user. Office locations include London, Paris, Munich, Palo Alto and New York.

-  Joined the UK office in March- on a 6 month interim contract -  to recruit for the UK, Benelux and Nordics teams.
-  Responsible for full recruitment life cycle from working with the hiring managers to sourcing to candidate management to closing.
-  Hired primarily for Advertising Sales/Business Development and Marketing roles. Also involved in Traffic acquisition/media buying and business intelligence recruitment.
-  New, stand alone recruitment role.

Worked as an interim recruiter for SME to global companies who have a digital, media or technology focus.
- Hands-on recruiter and helped organisations define and implement an effective recruitment process from headcount planning, to job spec writing, conducting successful interviews, sourcing and networking and on boarding

Operated as a Coach - leadership, workplace and career coach - for companies and for individuals and private clients.
- Career coach (on a 1:1 basis) for people looking to make significant career choices, cv advice and networking (e.g. how to get the best out of Linkedin)
- Leadership/workplace coaching - addressing leadership, management, performance, internal promotion, networking and skills questions.
