Charlie Baynes-Reid, a seasoned private equity professional with more than two decades of experience as both a legal advisor and investor, has been a Managing Director and founding partner at NewHold Enterprises since 2017. Having worked extensively across numerous industry sectors, including logistics, business services, real estate, renewable energy, and financial services, he is an expert in acquisitions and divestitures, consolidation strategies, debt financing and refinancing, capital markets, and exit strategies.

Charlie started his career in law, qualifying in the UK in 2001 with Simmons & Simmons and working with the Corporate Finance Group. Later, he moved to Minter Ellison in Sydney, Australia, where he worked in the M&A team before joining Macquarie in 2005. Based mostly in Sydney, he focused primarily on principal acquisitions before relocating to Macquarie's New York office in 2007, where he worked on principal investments and capital markets transactions in multiple jurisdictions.

In early 2014, Charlie became a Founding Partner of River Hollow Partners and later, in 2017, joined NewHold Enterprises as a Managing Director. He chairs Macro Energy, serves on the Board of NewHold AEC Corp., Powerful Foods LLC, and is a Board observer for Luna Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Charlie holds an LLB (Hons) degree in Business Law from City, University of London and is a dual-qualified English lawyer and member of the New York Bar.
