Jaap Veldhuizen

Jaap Veldhuizen is an experienced ENT-surgeon with a career spanning over three decades, starting in 1989.

He has been actively involved in the medical field, working at various hospitals including Westfries Gasthuis Hoorn from 1990 to 2000 and Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem-Hoofddorp from 2000 to 2020.

Jaap has a strong background in training ENT residents, taking on the role of training ENT-residents since 2004.

Apart from his practical work, he has been a member of the Dutch Otolaryngology Society as a librarian from 2001 to 2007 and chaired the ENT-Electronic Patient Files committee from 2002 to 2008.

Since 2008, Jaap has been a member of the ICT-team at Spaarne Gasthuis, focusing on areas like ZIS/EHF, liaising between the medical staff and the ICT team, as well as providing training. His expertise also includes being an Epic-specialist and MIO.

Jaap Veldhuizen's specialties lie in Rhinoplasty, Rhinology, and treating Taste and Smell disorders. He is known for being an experienced general ENT-surgeon.

He pursued his education at the University of Groningen, studying drs in Medical School.

Currently, Jaap is holding the positions of KNO-arts and Epic-specialist at Spaarne Gasthuis.
