Easan Sivaniah
Easan Sivaniah is a renowned physicist, engineer, and entrepreneur who currently leads a research and development group at Kyoto University. With a focus on developing innovative solutions for energy and environmental issues, Sivaniah has established himself as a pioneering figure in the field of carbon capture technology. In 2020, he founded OOYOO Ltd., a venture that draws on over a decade of research to create low-cost carbon capture technology. Sivaniah has also been working on developing a new printing technology that can generate ultra-high resolution lithographic printing without dyes, with potential applications in recycling, security printing, and sensors.
Before joining Kyoto University, Sivaniah held numerous academic positions at esteemed universities, including the University of Cambridge and the University of Leeds. He has also served as a Research Associate at UC Santa Barbara and as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University. With a doctoral degree in physics from the University of Cambridge and a master's degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College London, Sivaniah boasts an impressive educational background.
