Lauren Long is a full-stack software engineer with a remarkable trajectory of being a startup founder, early employee, senior software engineer, and product manager in the technology industry. Long graduated with the highest GPA in BCmp, Biomedical Computing, from Queen's University, where she later served on the board. Additionally, she studied Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and further honed her craft at Recurse Center.
Beyond coding, Long has an impressive range of skills and expertise that include answering customer support calls, pitching reporters, recruiting employees, designing marketing assets, and closing partnership deals. As a senior software engineer, she was responsible for leading technical projects and managing teams. Among the startups, she has co-founded Boxit and served as an entrepreneur at Something New, showcasing her prowess in business development.
Formerly a product manager at Nymi (formerly Bionym) and senior software engineer technical lead at Google, Long is well-versed in creating and delivering software products. While writing code is her first love, Long's diverse experiences contributed to her successes in the tech industry. She is a passionate problem-solver and go-getter, thriving in any situation that requires her to learn and act on her feet.
