Jan Steenkamp is a seasoned executive with a wealth of experience in various industries, including financial services, insurance, and business model engineering. After beginning his career as an engineering consultant, Steenkamp spent seven years as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co before joining Sanlam, where he has held a range of executive roles. Notably, Steenkamp led Sanlam's collaboration with Capitec to launch a disruptive funeral insurance business in 2016 and is responsible for Sanlam's key partnership with MTN. In his current role as Chief Executive of Strategic Business Development, Steenkamp oversees Sanlam's retail credit, loyalty, and rewards businesses, as well as its fiduciary service.
