Anna Marie Trester, a Georgetown University Ph.D. graduate in Linguistics, is a prominent story consultant and researcher, with a focus on story listening. Her expertise and interests primarily revolve around narrative, cross-cultural communication, applied communication strategy, instructional technology, language and culture, quantitative and qualitative research, ethnography, curriculum design, social media, and storytelling. Anna is a published author of Bringing Linguistics to Work and is currently writing a new book provisionally titled Employing Linguistics for Bloomsbury Press. As a Career Linguist, Anna frequently speaks and facilitates workshops with organizational partners such as PIER Consulting Group, The FrameWorks Institute, and Anecdote International. She has also been an instructor at Stanford Continuing Studies, American University School of International Service, San Francisco State University, and Howard University. Additionally, she has held numerous roles such as Professorial Lecturer at Georgetown University Department of Linguistics, Storyteller & Workshop Designer at Better Said Than Done, and Sociolinguistic Research Intern at MacNeil/Lehrer Productions Digital Ancillaries.
