Laura Christensen is a dedicated civil engineer with a background in law and expertise in environmental regulatory enforcement and agency rule-making.

Currently serving as a Petroleum Engineer at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Laura's primary focus is enhancing safety measures in the Gulf of Mexico to benefit the residents and workers in the region.

She possesses strong skills in structural engineering, specializing in stair and platform design, as well as structural analysis and design using ASD and LRFD methods. Laura is well-versed in industry standards like ACI, AISC, and OSHA Regulations.

Laura's areas of expertise include water quality management, offshore coastal dispersion modeling, PSD/Title V permitting, Louisiana and Mississippi air permitting, SPCC/SWPP plans, GHG permitting, and permit modifications and amendments.

With a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Environmental Law from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a background in Civil Engineering, Accounting, and Project Management from the University of New Orleans, Laura Christensen brings a unique and valuable perspective to her work.
