Neil Costigan is a seasoned entrepreneur and technical leader with over 20 years of experience in venture-backed startups and global technology corporations. As the CEO of Behaviosec, a security technology company, he delivers innovative solutions to enable consumer protection. With an international background, including work and education in Ireland, Sweden, France, the US, and the UK, Neil's expertise covers technology commercialization, product management, security software engineering, and architecture, among other areas. Early in his career, he worked as a software developer at Telecom Ireland Software, after studying computer applications and computer science at Dublin City University, where he also earned his PhD in computer science for his thesis on elliptic curve cryptography on modern processor architectures. Later, he co-founded and served as CTO of PKI specialists Celo Communications, first in Stockholm, Sweden, then relocating to Mountain View, California. Before joining Behaviosec, he also worked as VP R&D (Banking and Security) at Gemplus, now GemAlto in Aix-en-Provence, France. Neil is a cryptographer by training, a software developer by trade, and an entrepreneur by accident, with a strong passion for innovation, cryptography, and network security.
