Melanie Lazare is a former teacher turned Google Program Manager, currently leading the Google for Education team responsible for initiatives affecting over 80 million students, educators, and administrators worldwide. Her passion for equity is evident in her drive to promote access to technology in emerging markets and apply programs in Google that expose students to careers in tech.
Before joining Google, Melanie taught Math at West Memphis Public Schools, worked with people operations and recruitment at Google, and served as Program Manager for Student Development at Google. She studied Business Finance and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Stony Brook University.
