I oversaw Product Management (Consumer), User Experience Design, Creative/Interactive Design and Product Marketing for the Domain Group. This includes teams building and managing products for the following brands and businesses:

We did quite a bit in the two years I was here with a very small team. My team and I enabled (via the product) or accomplished the following:

-  Built a product team from 0 to 16 people that includes Product Management, User Experience and Creative Design with a culture that would rival the best. Everything in the Bigcommerce product and platform up to the middle of 2014 was defined, designed and managed by this team.
-  Built a product and platform that grew the valuation of the company by about 500%
-  Built a product and platform that enabled us to grow our client base from about 15,000 merchants to 53,000 merchants (as of Mar 23 2014) and growing at about 100% growth rate annually
-  Raised a B and C round totaling 60M to fuel the rapid growth funded by two fantastic VC firms (General Catalyst and Revolution Ventures)
-  Built a brand that is being recognized internationally as a platform of choice for small businesses to do commerce online
-  Grew our international client base by 200%
-  Created a platform and ecosystem with the broadest API set in our segment. This platform has enabled an apps ecosystem that has grown from about 40 apps to around 200 apps and growing rapidly
-  Analyzed our client base and segmented them and built the first set of client personas for the company
-  Developed the first set of mobile products for the shopper and merchant
-  Created a themes ecosystem that is generating good revenue to complement our core SaaS revenue and we have enhanced the platform to maximize revenue generation from our other partnerships such as payments and shipping/fulfillment
-  Initiated and drove the creation of a development center in India that had over 25 developers, we remotely drove product development with this team from Sydney
-  The product team interfaced cross functionally with business teams in Austin and with engineering teams in India and Sydney
-  Built a team culture that put the client, product and brand first

BigCommerce

Led the development of PayPal’s global multichannel, cross-channel and omnichannel retail strategy:
-   Defined the technical and commercial opportunity for PayPal in the North America, CEMEA, APAC and Emerging Markets. Evangelized the strategy to product, business and tech leaders globally.
-   Lead multichannel and omnichannel proof-of-concepts and market tests in several PayPal regions

Led a system’s based technical assessment of eBay Inc’s global capabilities:
-   Led the team that worked on streamlining the integration of PayPal into the first eBay Inc mobile app “mash-up”, integrating PayPal into RedLaser, Where and Milo for a pilot of multichannel capabilities with a few top retail brands

Led the design, development and launch of PayPal’s global point of sale merchant product suite:
-   Designed all merchant process, integration points, APIs and end-to-end experiences.   Led the large, cross-functional workstream to develop the code-base.  This technology stack enhanced the non-functional requirements and performance to ISO standards and unlocked a $4trillion retail market for PayPal.

Group Product Manager, Emerging Products & Head of Multichannel Products

- Developed a global strategy and launched a solution that solved a legacy, core platform design shortcoming which was inhibiting account growth and usage by redefining architecturally, technically and strategically what a “user” and an “account” is defined to be.  The new system design allows for more flexibility in tying metadata and financial instruments to PayPal’s traditional and legacy definition of a “user account” and has opened up the PayPal platform to accommodate decoupled account metadata, funding instruments, and account relationships; all creatively bundled into new account structures.  This was a fundamental shift in PayPal’s capabilities.

-   Developed the strategy and product architecture and built the program for the next generation PayPal authentication and authorization services. This service suite enables a tiered and rules-based authentication framework that minimizes the disruption to the user experience.  The new system separates transactions and users into buckets based upon their risk profile, and only asks for incremental data if the risk profile of the transaction met the rule threshold.  This significantly minimizes the data capture required for consumers when transacting on PayPal globally.  The framework also allows PayPal to start testing new form-factors, authentication protocols and transaction channels – including mobile, cross-channel, omnichannel and point of sale.

Led international credit product development
-   Led the creation and launch of the PayPal Mastercard in the UK.  This card won the best card product in the UK in 2010
-   Led the creation and launch of the PayPal VISA card in France, Italy and Spain. These products are the first online instant credit products in the region and had creative features such as installments integrated into the product.

Led PayLater product development and launch
-   Created a transactional credit product that enabled consumers to receive credit on a per-transaction basis.  At the time, the only other competitor in the market was BillMeLater.  The creation of this product validated the market opportunity and led to the acquisition of BillMeLater
-   Lead product manager on the integration of BillMeLater into the PayPal product suite and experience

Led PayPal card product development and management
-   Designed, built and deployed a card-holder acquisition strategy, optimizing advertising placement on PayPal.com’s web assets. Grew a new business to 2.5M user accounts in 4 years and total receivables to $1.2B.
-   Designed, built and launched the full-lifecycle cardholder servicing.  Migrated account management and servicing from GE’s portal to <a href="http://PayPal.com">PayPal.com</a>.
-   Designed, built and launched tiered cash-back and loyalty points rewards programs.
-   Enhanced the core web and card product to allow for consumer personalization
-   Promoted in 2008

Senior Product Manager, Financial Products

- 1 year: Built systems that mine card-holder data to help product managers optimize new and existing card and product portfolios.
-   1.5 years: Managed the rebuild and redesign of the web security architecture (<a href="http://AmericanExpress.com">AmericanExpress.com</a>) to build a rules-based authentication framework
-   2.5 years: Optimized and managed the database architecture, information architecture and experience architectures for the 401K portal on <a href="http://AmericanExpress.com">AmericanExpress.com</a>
-   2 years: Designed the system, information and experience architectures  and led a team of 3 as we developed AmEx’s first dynamic content publishing system for the <a href="http://AmericanExpress.com">AmericanExpress.com</a> website, this was a predecessor to the modern-day CMS
