-  Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers
-  Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
-  Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

Senior Partner Solutions Architect, Integration and Automation

Project: Log Management Service (LMS) on AWS -  A service which allows developers and application owners to create, manage and destroy Splunk clusters on AWS, with on-demand, self-service, fully automated capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities: -
-  Lead the design and implementation of Splunk cluster re-stacking automation to be in compliance with internal security policies and support business outcomes.

-  Implemented heavy forwarder deployment automation for splunk clusters, which enabled routing of logs from various applications (both in private cloud and AWS) to splunk in AWS.

-  Mentor team members to built and increase technical acumen and contribute to the team deliverables

Intuit, Inc.

Senior Software Engineer

Project: Log Management Service (LMS) on AWS

-  Designed and developed LMS Web service using REST standards, to enable the self-serve capability to customers for managing Splunk clusters.

-  Implemented multi-region support for LMS to enable Splunk cluster creation in any AWS region which increased LMS presence from 1 region to 5 regions and reduced index time and search time from minutes to seconds.

-  Implemented and automated multi-site Splunk deployment on AWS across multiple AZs, to enable HA.

-  Designed and implemented storage for Splunk instances with EBS volumes and LVM, which enabled indefinite scaling of the storage capacity of Splunk instances beyond the AWS EBS volume size limits.

-  Implemented DNS for Splunk endpoints using public DNS with private IPs, which made LMS Splunk clusters secure by putting Indexers in the private subnet and enabled seamless re-stacking, log-forwarding and maintenance without any downtime.

-  Actively participated and influenced LMS architecture, tech stack and design decisions by effectively analyzing and evaluating various use cases, technologies such as AWS Cloudformation, S3, SQS, EC2, EBS, and Chef.

Project: Verification Service

-  Designed and Developed AWS connector and database module to perform scans of various resources on Amazon public cloud to uncover the vulnerabilities, using AWS SDK, RESTful web service and Java Spring framework.

-  Developed AWS client component to decouple CMDB from verification service, which helped in overcoming the scalability issues had with CMDB and Edda. It significantly scaled the scanning of instances from 10s to 100s, within few minutes.

-  Implemented EBS Permission check and EBS Snapshot IAM Group and Policy check modules to enable Mint to go into production from Intuit Data Center to the public cloud.

-  Implemented control module to throttle AWS API calls of verification service, which solved the “Rate limit Exceeded” error problem and helped reduce the cost by 40%.

Software Engineer II

Working as an Application Operations Engineer II in Development Operations team in Consumer Tax Group Business unit. Following were my roles and responsibilities:

-  Designed and developed the strategy of Web Traffic management tool for Consumer Financial Platform (CFP), and implemented it using RESTful services, GTM APIs and HTML, to effectively and efficiently manage client requests between data centers in-turn increase the uptime of the application.

-  Translated customer requirements into technical specifications for product development teams and acted as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.

-  Scoped and managed production releases of the application and reported status to the program manager on a regular basis to help him maintain and track the overall progress of the program.

-  Implemented real-time reporting system using JAVA, shell script to notify the operation engineers and application team about production issues, which reduced the MTTR (Mean-time-to-respond) significantly.

-  Designed and developed the deployment architecture for various monitoring applications across multiple data centers for HA/DR capabilities, which resulted into 99% availability of monitoring applications

-  Architected and implemented splunk logging and monitoring for CFP using saved searches, alerts & dashboards

-  Performed FMEA (Failure mode effect analysis) to identify and evaluate critical failure points at various tiers of CFP and MyTurbotax applications

-  Developed contingencies for most critical failure scenarios of CFP and MyTurbotax applications to mitigate the risk, which increased the year-round availability of the applications

-  Drove the design, development and implementation of operational standards and capabilities for connected services that enabled highly available, scalable and reliable customer experiences

-  Developed a web application to centralize the development and management of all the automated tasks for multiple applications, using JSP, HTML, JavaScript and MySQL, which increased the productivity and efficiency of the team
-  Created Customer Experience monitors and dashboards, defined key metrics and alerts which helped team to analyze and monitor customer experiences during Tax season and performance testing.
-  Developed an automated backup tool to provide HA/DR capability for various configurations, data files of multiple applications on distributed across 2 data centers, using J2EE, JAX-WS, JQuery and Shell scripts. It made the data “always-available” by providing 99.97% availability of data
-  Implemented a centralized application monitoring tool called Grand MoM to provide a single dashboard for performance metrics of multiple applications, using CA APM 8.x, Java 5 and JavaScript. It reduced the no. of connections between application servers and monitoring servers and increased the performance by 5 times
-  Created and executed migration plan of monitoring infrastructure and applications from San Diego to Quincy and Las Vegas Data Center which reduced running cost and provided HA/DR capability to applications.
