Mohsen Khalil is an accomplished business leader and advisory/investment expert with extensive experience in telecoms, information technology, renewable energy, clean tech, and venture capital. He is the founder and CEO of MAKVEST, an advisory/investment company that provides strategic, investment, and financial advisory services to companies operating in or focusing on emerging markets.

Mohsen has a Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from American University of Beirut. He also has a Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA in Finance and Financial Management Services from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management.

Mohsen has held various professional positions, including professor of Business and Finance at the American University of Beirut, Chief Advisor to the Lebanese Minister of Post and Telecommunications, and founding board director of Lebanon's Autonomous Fund for Housing. He has also worked with McKinsey & Co. Management Consultants, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and MITRE Corporation.

Mohsen has served as board director and advisor for many companies and investment funds at different stages of growth in various industry sectors, including energy, mining, telecoms, information technology, banking, and consumer products. Some of the organizations where he has served include ACWA Power, ACWA Kuc Turkey, and Godrej Africa, among others.

Before founding MAKVEST, Mohsen held several positions with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank, including Global Head of the Climate Business Group of IFC, IFC/World Bank joint Director of the Global Information and Communication Technologies Department, and Regional Director of IFC's Central Asia, Middle East, and North Africa Department, among others.

Mohsen has numerous publications and has lectured in international fora, conventions, and symposiums in his areas of expertise. His professional experience, academic achievements, and noteworthy contributions to various organizations make him one of the most accomplished business leaders in his field.
