James Mi is an accomplished venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and technology executive with a diverse portfolio of successful companies. As the founding partner of Lightspeed China Partners, a China-focused early-stage venture capital firm with nearly $2 billion in assets, he has led investments in companies including Meituan/Dianping, Pingduoduo, Rong360, Innolight, and Baidu. Prior to his role at Lightspeed, James worked as the Director of Corporate Development for Google in the Greater China region, where he led strategic investments and M&A operations. He also spearheaded Google's early efforts in China while serving as Chief Representative of the Google China Representative Office. Additionally, James co-founded a venture-backed startup, iTelco Communications, and held various management positions at Intel. He holds 14 patents in flash memory, communications, internet security, and commerce. James earned his MS in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and his BS in Physics from Fudan University.
