Kruschen Govender is a systems design thinker who specializes in sustainability transitions, business model innovation, and digital transformation. With a PhD in Civil Engineering focused on Circular Economy, Industrial Ecology, Sustainable Design, and Innovation, he has also studied Development Studies with a focus on Development Economics and Sustainability. He has worked as a Senior Manager at Climate-KIC, the Director at Think Ecological Design, Head of Future Manufacturing at Toyota Wessels Institute for Manufacturing Studies, and as a postdoctoral research fellow at Cranfield University and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. With experience in research, venture design, strategy consulting, lecturing, and entrepreneurship, Kruschen has developed and managed multidisciplinary consulting projects for different clients, including government agencies, multilateral development organizations, large corporates, and SMMEs. He utilizes a holistic flow worldview based on fundamental ecological principles to re-imagine and re-design manmade systems using ecological design thinking and emerging technologies.
