Unlike log management tools that were made for IT cost centers, only Scalyr is architected for revenue-generating software whose creators need to go fast, keep things simple, and empower their teams.

Front End Developer

A primary developer of Zimbra's Ajax web client, starting in 2004. It is marketed as a "collaboration suite", meaning it pulls together email, calendar, contacts, and a few other related apps. At over half a million lines of JavaScript, it is one of the larger Ajax applications in use. A separate project was leading a small team in the development of Zimbra for the iPad, building it as a webapp on top of the Sencha Touch framework.

Manager and individual contributor on a team that maintains and develops several collaboration (mail, contacts, calendar for the most part) clients. Those clients include a very large Ajax web client, a touch device webapp, an admin console, and native mobile clients.

While with startup Onebox, developed a unified messaging client in PHP and C. After acquisition by Openwave, ported it to Java/JSP/Struts, then moved to an infrastructure group where I wrote JavaMail APIs, mostly as a bridge between Java and a C-based mail server.

Developed public campus web services for students, faculty, departments, and student groups. Hacked on NCSA httpd and Apache in C, and wrote a lot of Perl CGI scripts for general use.

Assembly-language programmer, first for the Shared Electronic Banking switch, which routed transactions between the bank and financial networks (such as Visa, Interlink, STAR, etc); later joined the ATM group and worked on the application that controlled over 1000 ATMs.
